Who doesn’t love a Christmas Market? In Norwich we have several, plus a few in the gorgeous Norfolk countryside too. Festive Fair at The Forum (22 – 25 Nov) with its beautiful gold-lit auditorium is the first city Christmas Market of the season and it’s a very good one too. Discover great quality local gifts, crafts, art and pop-up food and drink, and seasonal music.
The following weekend at the same venue visit Global Village Market (29 Nov – 1 Dec). This market offers German bratwurst BBQ and Gluhwein, carols and brass bands, and plenty to fill your stockings!
On 1 December The Norfolk Christmas Fayre brings a farmers’ market, some fantastic gift ideas and vintage fairground rides to the magnificent Norwich Cathedral. This event launches in the evening of the 30 November, and is guaranteed to be a truly atmospheric winter warmer.
The annual Norwich Vegans Christmas Market takes place at OPEN, (2 Dec) with all manner of vegan goodies to buy and try. Norwich is fast becoming a vegan hotspot.
Finally, get into the countryside to visit two of Norfolk’s best attractions. On 25 November we have Pensthorpe Natural Park Christmas Market. While you’re there take the opportunity for a stroll around their gardens enjoying the wildlife, it’s a great place for the family.
And of course, the fantastic, evergreen Norwich Market is open for Christmas, and is also home to some brilliant pop up stalls over the festive season. At the moment find pop up stars, houseplants and other beautiful gifts from all over the world!
Finally, on 15 – 16 December head to Holkham Hall Festive Food Fair for a celebration of local produce and products – make a day of it by enjoying a winter walk on Holkham beach, followed by a late coastal pub lunch (make sure you book a table).
